The USC studen'ts apartment needs to be versatile, but small enough to still be economical. The unit is kept as small as possible by cutting out unusable space. Private and public space are divided by levels (right).

The units do not sit completely flush to each other, creating air pockets that act as sound barriers (left). The units accomodate one person comfortably on a daily basis, but are still big enough for friends to gather.
