I took this photograph while on a cross-country road trip from my home in San Francisco, to school in Rhode Island. To me this image captured the essence of the trip, taken somewhere between Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and Chicago, Illinois. The colors and simplicity were striking to me, as well as the haphazardness of the hay bales.
